Dr M Sadegzadeh BSc, MBA, PhD, CEng, MICE

Expert knowledge of degradation of reinforced and prestressed concrete. Extensive research experience on the durability of concrete, particularly relating to abrasion resistance; control of reinforcement corrosion; alkali-silica reaction; sulphate attack; high alumina concretes; concreate mix design; chloride diffusion; voidage/air entrainment problems; surface debonding; frost action in granular and cement stabilised soils; and construction materials utilising waste materials and by-products.

Expert witness in court and advisor to National (BS 8204) and International (ASTM) committees on abrasion resistance of concrete.

Experience of managing and undertaking major research programmes, (e.g. DTLR sponsered LINK project, costing £0.5million, investigating "The Control of Reinforcement Corrosion by Treatment of Concrete").

Author of over 50 papers on a range of Civil Engineering and Concrete Technology topics.


Dr N R Short BSc, PhD

Expert knowledge in mechanisms and control of corrosion of metals in concrete. Corrosion monitoring and protection techniques. Pore structure, surface chemistry and diffusion in hydrated cement. Alkali silica reaction and miscellaneous aspects of concrete durability. Electrodeposition and corrosion resistance of zinc coatings contraining cobalt and nickel. Interfacial studies related to the adherence and corrosion protection of polymer films on zinc coated steel. Organic polymer/inorganic cement composites.

Author of over 60 papers on a range of Civil Engineering and Concrete Technology topics.


 

 

Dr A V Bromley BSc, PhD

Expert in petrography and a wide range of other methods of analysis including X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy in the investigation of problems with construction materials.

Acting as expert witness in court for many investigations involving litigation in the UK

Compiled several thousands of commerical reports on petrographic and petrogenetic studies of various materials related to the construction industry.

Author of many papers on a range of Civil Engineering and Concrete Technology topics.


Dr L Y Li BEng, MSc, PhD, CEng, MIStructE, MSFSE

Expert knowledge in chloride removal from concrete using electrochemical methods; fire structural analysis of concrete structures; damage analysis of composite structures under impact loading; analysis and design of cold-formed steel structures; theory and application of finite element methods; biomechanics problems in tissue engineering.

Author of over 100 papers on a range of Civil Engineering and Concrete Technology topics.

 


Dr Roland Harbron BSc, MSc, PhD, CEng, MRSE, Charted Chemist

A Technical Consultant with a strong technical background in fields of colloid science, surface chemistry and materials science. Twenty years experience in the formulation and manufacture of speciality flooring products, investigation of floor failures, floor testing and report preparation.


Dr J A Purkiss BSc, PhD, CEng, MIStructE, MICE, MSFSE

Expert knowledge in mechanical behaviour of concrete, steel and fibre concrete composites at elevated temperatures in steady and transient state behaviour. Expert knowledge in computer simulation of structural behaviour of reinforced concrete and steel structural elements and sub-frames when exposed to fire. The use of expert systems in assessing the structural behaviour of elements in fire.
